Frequently Asked Questions
1) Where do I go to find elementary registration?
2) How do I drop off and pick up my children?
Morning Drop Off
Student drop off is in the front of the school building only. Students may be dropped off in the parking lot by the crosswalk in front of the media center. Mrs. Lewis will walk your child across the street from 7:45-8:00 a.m. If you wish to walk your child to the front door, please park your car in a parking space and walk with your child using the crosswalk. For the safety of your child, we ask that you do not drop him/her off in the outside lane. All students will report to the cafeteria if they arrive before 8:00 a.m. They will be dismissed to class at 8:00 a.m.
Afternoon Pick Up
At no time shall a student walk out of the building without an adult.
3) Special Notes
- Day care centers should be notified by parents of students who are absent, have checked out early or are going home in a different way.
- Any car picking up your student must have your child’s name written on the school-provided tag, so that it is visible to the teacher on duty.
- There will be no check outs or transportation changes taken after 2:45 p.m.

4) What do I do if my child needs to take medicine at school?
- Medicines, of any kind, must be hand delivered, by the parent or guardian, to the school nurse. The parent or guardian must fill out a medication release form as well.
- "As needed" medications, including Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and rescue inhalers, must be brought to the school nurse in a pharmacy-labeled container, which clearly indicates the doctor's orders for dosing. Our policy requires that an asthma action plan be provided for rescue inhalers also.
- Please understand that your child must be fever free for a full 24 hours without the aid of medication -- before returning to school.
- Children experiencing a fever of 100.0 or higher, vomiting, and/or with diarrhea should remain at home.
- The nurse is able to give behavior medication and other medications that are prescribed four times per day. (So, if a child has an antibiotic that needs to be given THREE times per day, it needs to be done before school, when child gets home, and at bedtime.)
- Students who are in third grade and above can have their inhalers in their backpacks.
- One more thing... ALL students (K-4) need to keep a complete change of clothes in their backpacks in case of accidents, spills, or finding puddles on the playground.
