Hello! My name is Torrie C. Achan, and I am a third grade teacher at Woodrow Cummins Elementary School.  This is my eleventh year in education, all of which have been served in Conway Public Schools.  Prior to teaching third grade, I taught fourth and first grade at Theodore Jones Elementary School. After graduating from J.A. Fair High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, I attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  I received a Bachelor’s Degree from Henderson State University in 2000 and a Master’s Degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 2002.  On a personal note, I am married to Joey Achan, a teacher/coach at Bob Courtway Middle School.  We have two delightful children, Madison and Josiah.  We attend The Rock Solid Church here in Conway.  Also, I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking with my daughter, and reading. I am blessed beyond measure to serve as an educator at Woodrow Cummins Elementary.

My name is Elizabeth Canady. I have been teaching for 4 years, and this is my first year in the Conway school district. I graduated with both my bachelors and masters from the University of Central Arkansas. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I am so fortunate to call Woodrow Cummins my school!  

Mrs. Connerly has had the privilege of teaching in the Conway Public Schools for 17 years. She has a BSE in Elementary Education from UCA and is in the process of obtaining her MSE in Elementary Leadership.  Born and raised in Arlington, Texas, Mrs. Connerly enjoys activities in the SUN! Traveling, hiking, camping, scuba diving, and trout fishing are among her favorite things to do. She is an avid reader of biographies, mysteries, and inspirational books.  Jeff, her husband, is Vice President of Progressive Medical, Inc. out of St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Connerly has two teenage boys. Greyson is a senior and will attend UCA this Fall. Garrett is a sophomore at Conway High and plays football for the Wampus Cats. Go Cats!

Mrs. Smith has a BSE in Elementary Education from the University of Central Arkansas and MSE in Elementary Leadership also from UCA.  She is from Clinton Arkansas and has taught in the area for 17 years. She has taught at WCES since opening in the fall of 2008.  In 2009 she earned National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Literacy-Language Arts/Early Middle Childhood the same year graduated from the Arkansas Leadership Institute.  Mrs. Smith understands the importance of continuing her education.  Terry, her husband, coaches boy’s basketball at Perryville High School.  Their two sons, Braxton- age 11 and Brock- age 8 have also attended Woodrow Cummins Elementary.  The family enjoys spending time at sporting events and their favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals.  Outside of school Mrs. Smith enjoys cooking, traveling, and reading.
